Equivocal and ambiguity. Artwork that blurs and crosses the line of demarcation between traditional art techniques and digital graphic design. From graffiti art and illustration, to vector graphics and rasterized images, through digital and traditional photography, the fusion of these contrasting elements would be a reflection of my self and a representation of my surroundings and how I see them.

First Set of Cross Process

Sent my first set of cross process negatives for developing. Dropped it off at Ruby's and would be ready this Thursday. Rather excited about the outcome. I actually forgot all about it. After all the excitement of getting the filters for my Holga and taking photos I actually forgot all about it even after sending the film for processing. The negatives was on my table for a long time untill two days ago when I was cleaning up some papers that I realised that I've yet to develop them. So lets wait for this Thursday to see the results.

Lomography

This was initially posted at my website last year. Yesterday, one of my students emailed me asking about a Holga. So I decided to repost this little bit about Lomography.

Looking at life through the digital lens can only do so much for me. My love and fetish for Lomo and toy cameras in general is growing and reaching new levels of obsession.

What is Lomo? In 1991 a group of Viennese students discovered the Lomo Kompakt Automat when on holiday in Prague. This mass-produced Soviet camera was so cheap and easy to use that they shot rolls of film, ignoring the established rules of "good" photography. The resulting snaps were often odd to look at, out of focus and, due to the character of the Lomo lens, garishly coloured. But they were wonderfully fresh. The craze for Lomo spread so fast that when, in 1996, the St Petersburg manufacturers threatened to stop making the camera, Lomographers stepped in to guarantee all future sales.

Today the Lomographic Society has embassies across the globe with Lomography.com as its base. Hundreds participate in international Lomo events and add to the ever-growing LomoWorldArchive.

Currently, these are some of the toy cameras that I currently have, or at least have access to:

  • Holga
  • Colour Splash
  • Lomo Meccano
  • Action Sampler
  • Oktomat
  • Lomo Fish Eye

Why Did I Screw Up My Life?

My life is so insignificant.............

Darkness & Light Unfinished

Final painting for Art Theory in Practice. The painting did not turn out as I expected. Was not too happy with the outcome. Well I am tired and it is not easy getting inspiration. Seems like something is amiss... that feeling I get after a successful art work isn't there. It needs the caress of the eyes of my inspiration to be completed. Sigh. I waited only to realise she's no longer there to see it. She would have been excited.
